Beginning in 2016, BSW students will have the opportunity to pursue indigenous pathways through the program. In the first pathway, students will take three indigenous focused courses and have a fourth-year placement in an indigenous-focused agency or setting. In the more extensive pathway, students will take a Minor in Indigenous Studies (eight one-term courses); both of the Indigenous-focused Social Work electives (Social Work & Indigenous Peoples and Indigenizing Social Work Practice Approaches), and have a fourth-year placement in an indigenous-focused agency or setting.
