In partnership with the Indigenous Studies Program: A required Indigenous Studies course for Bachelor of Social Work students

Starting in 2017, all BSW students will be required to take an introductory course offered by McMaster’s Indigenous Studies program.

Oct 19, 2016

The course focuses on the histories, societies and politics of First Nation, Metis, and Inuit peoples, the distinctive features of Indigenous worldviews and the history of their relationship with European settler societies, with attention to treaties, legislation, and activism. This course will provide vital foundation for the second year Anti-Oppressive Perspectives, and Social Welfare Policy, courses.
