Undergraduate Student Committees

Do you have any ideas or suggestions to make things better? Well here’s your opportunity to voice those ideas, and make a difference in your education.

The School of Social Work is currently recruiting “Student Representatives” to a number of School & University Committees

The time required for these committees is small, but the benefits are great!

Taking part in a School or University Committee is a great way to influence future policy and course curriculum.  It also looks great on a resume!

Field Instruction Committee

  • Meets once a month from Sept – June.
  • 1 – 2nd year Student Rep is needed
  • 1 – 3rd year Student Rep is needed
  • 1 – 4th year Student Rep is needed

Community-Professional Advisory Group

  • Meets at least twice between Sept – April.
  • 1 Undergraduate Student Rep is needed.

Anti-Oppression Education Committee

  • Meets at least once a term
  • Representatives of Circle of Indigenous Social Work Action, Disability Action Group, SWQT, MAD Student Collective, United in Colour, and other groups that form in the School and wish to take part.

Disability Action Group

  • Meets each month between Sept – April

School Assembly:

School Assembly is convened if one of the School’s constituent groups or a group or coalition of concerned students/faculty/staff considers that it will be valuable.

  •  All students are invited.

Ontario Association of Social Workers

  • Meets twice per year from Sept – June.
  • 1 – 2nd year Student Rep is needed
